Microsoft Reps Arriving…
Well I just found out that a bunch of Microsoft big shots are coming to good ‘ole Lubbock and in particular, SmoothFusion to meet with us and see where we do our work. There are a lot of things planned with them and hopefully I will get to talk one on one with them and listen to what they have to say about the I.T. market and more specifically the Microsoft market at this point in time.
not a lot of news…
It’s been a slow news week… Big news is that I made a B on my accounting test, which suits me just fine! Some other interesting news is that last night a car in the apartment complex caught fire and burned completely up. I heard a fire truck but didn’t get up to look…. I saw the car this morning completely burned out with nothing left but the shell….
I have been working on the site and have still been unable to come up with a decent design that I like… I have been thinking about buying a new domain and starting all over.
it’s tomorrow…
Yeah, that’s right, my first accounting test is tomorrow… I will be extremely happy after I finish it. It’s not that I am worried about it, I just want to get it out of the way. Everyone has been making a big deal about how hard it is going to be even though it is multiple choice and the teacher has even told us it isn’t that bad… Once I take it though it will be a serious burden off of my chest. The test time is 6:30-8pm tomorrow so that gives me a little cramming time in between class and the test so thumbs up to that!
questions…
Well back when I first started doing this whole website thing the question was raised, “where did you come up with badice?”. Quite frankly, I have no idea. I started doing word combinations on a domain registration site and this was the best I could do (I know, I must not have tried too hard)… However, yesterday I did a Google Search and it spit out a result I had never known about. Badice is actually a town in Slovakia…Weird huh? This is the site where I got the startling information: http://www.traveljournals.net/explore/slovakia/map/132/badice.html.
Great read…
Vinnie Garcia has a great little article up about CSS and HTML and how misinformation messes a lot of people up. If you are a designer or thinking about designing, check out his article.
I have had to disable the ability to add an entry to the guestbook because of spam that I cannot seem to get rid. I am working on a solution to keep it from happening again but who knows when I will have time to finish it.
the week is almost over.
Thank God!! It is has been too long… I am ready to relax this weekend, study accounting and get some things done to this site!
The A&M game is this weekend but I seriously doubt I will go. The reason being is that I don’t really want to stand in line for 4hrs to watch a football game that we have a chance to lose. A&M may have played poorly their last two games but we have no defense whatsoever and if they can stop our short pass game we are done for.
wow
Well it is the end of the week and thank God it is… I am ready to just relax and not worry about tests. If you are wondering how they went, well they went ok. Statistics could have gone better and will definitely go better next time (since I now know how her tests are) and Economics was a breeze. A good way to end the week. Now to focus on Accounting….
If you are looking to make your internet browsing experience more fufilling, may I suggest Mozilla Firebird. You can download the install file here.
It is definitely worth downloading since it conforms to web standards that most other browsers don’t (ex. – Internet Explorer). So download it, try it out, and you will definitely notice a difference. Let me say though that it is still beta software. It is stable but it is not a final release (this is version .6.1). You shouldn’t have any problems but there are always chances, but don’t worry, this thing won’t corrupt your OS.
Alright, now for the serious stuff… I am truly sick and tired of people who say that the current economic situation in the U.S. is due to Bush’t economic policy. What do I say to those people? I say, ‘What are you, retarded?’ Anyone with some common sense knows the economic and fiscal policy do not take effect for at least 3 yrs. but on average 4. So, let’s think about that…. 4 yrs. ago who was the president of the U.S.? Oh that’s right, Clinton. Am I saying all of Bush’s current economic policies are right on the money? No. I do not agree with the tax the poor and leave the rich alone policy… However, most of Bush’s recent actions to stimulate the economy have gone ok and it will take more time to see if they can do more. You must also realize that Bush isn’t the person who sets the interest rates and really runs the economy. Alan Greenspan does. Anyone who has taken 12th grade economics should know this but I guess some people slept through that class. You want to blame someone, blame Greenspan, who could have 5 years ago made changes that would have prevented a recession that was made worse by 9/11. People criticize Bush and I think what would you have done if you were president? You wouldn’t have acted like Bush that’s for sure… And those of you who are displeased with Bush, take a minute and think about what our country would be like right now if Gore was president during all of this… I can’t even imagine, I don’t want to imagine…
first tests of the year…
Got my first test of the year tomorrow. I am not sure how hard they will be but I am not worried. Economics is pretty much a no brainer with definitions and easy equations. Statistics may be a little harder but can’t tell until I take it.
Accounting is killing me. I am going to regroup this next week and figure all of this stuff out… I think the confusing part is when you have an asset that you debit and then an asset that you credit at the same time. To me, that isn’t theoretical… but oh well.
a couple of things…
First off I thought I would share my thoughts on the drivers in Lubbock. They are horrible!! They drive like every other person on the road has all day to get from one side of Lubbock to the other. When the sign says 45, go at least 40, please!!! When you are making a left turn using the median, don’t slow all the way down while still in the main flow of traffic, it messes up the flow!!!
I have 2 tests on Thursday, one in Economics and the other in Statistics. Both should not be very hard at all considering that they are both Multiple Choice.
