changes…

Well I will be working on a new content system for the site as well as a new look. Hopefully I will get smilies and a new design up by tomorrow. It all depends if I get the good ‘ole Ford Bronco washed and cleaned out or not… I also hope to get the message board working so that it doesn’t display e-mail addresses as it does now (so that they don’t get spidered and you get spam).

You should check out http://www.ensight.org for some “techy” type stuff… It is a blog that a few of the staff at http://www.sitepointforums.com put together to post computer and technology related articles and news. I was invited to start posting a few days ago and have made a few postings already… Check it out, you might find it interesting or boring, depending on how technology interested you are =)

wow!!

Well Lyndsay and I went to Surfside beach on Saturday with my buddy Andy and his girlfriend. I did some boogie boarding and swam out about a quarter of mile off shore just to see if I could. The surprising thing was that the beach was actually nice!! Since Surfside is near the refineries and the offshore oil rigs can be seen from the beach the water sometimes (most of the time) is brown and hard to see…. But on Saturday it wasn’t bad at all, we had crystal clear water most of the way out with a little seaweed, but no biggie. I did get a horrible sunburn which has now turned my chest and back almost purple… I’ll never go to the beach without sunblock again!!

The pain is so bad I haven’t really moved in two days. I have tried this Aloe Vera stuff and it works for about, ohhh, 20 minutes, then I have to put more of it on!! Anyway, I guess it’s my fault and I should have listened to my mother (yeah, she’ll love hearing that) and put sunblock on. Lyndsay and I have both learned a valuable lesson; sunscreen is a must!!! =)

another week…

Well it has been another week…

I went to Target with my mom today. Shopped around, looked at Father’s Day gifts, and bought a few things. Somewhat unproductive but at least I was out of the house! =)

I came home and tried to figure out some of the wiring on my truck for the fog lights. It looks pretty basic but it will probably take me about two days to get totally rewired with new lights and new switches. I just hope it doesn’t cost too much.

I grilled for the family tonight… Mostly chicken with some other stuff. My mom was making fun of me saying that I was practicing for living in the apartment next semester. She always acts like I am a moron and that I don’t know how to cook. She told me how to put the meat on the grill…. For those of you who didn’t laugh, I’ll repeat that. She told me how to put the meat on the grill!

I am gonna go look for a job tomorrow and I will probably just be as unsuccessful as I have been the last few weeks.

What I think I’ll do…

Well, since I am really getting desperate for a job, I think that working for a cell phone company would be fun. I guess sales would be the best, probably for Sprint or Cingular.

I think I’ll go Monday and see if they have anything available. The problem with me is that I don’t want a job where I deal with whiny people. Maybe sales will get me away from that… who knows.

Lyndsay and I watched “The Hot Chick” and “Stealing Harvard” last night… “The Hot Chick” was funny at times but a little slow. I think Lyndsay liked it more than me, but oh well, it was funny. “Stealing Harvard” was a little dumber and kind of dissappointing… There were some funny parts but altogether it was boring. I will say that watching either one was better than watching “Moulin Rouge”. Lyndsay knows what I am talking about 😉

need a job…

Well I definitely need a job. I am going to need money for the apartment next semester and I don’t have any in the bank account at all.

I have two websites I have to get done before the end of summer and I haven’t started on either one. They shouldn’t take long, but still, I need to get cracking.

Lyndsay and I went shopping today, mostly for her. She wanted to look at bathing suits and flip-flops, and I just tagged along telling her what I liked and didn’t like when she asked. I am going with her and her family to see her sister graduate high school on Sunday, so that should be fun. I get to meet the part of the family I haven’t met yet (some of the uncles and cousins).

why??

Why can I not find a job?! This city has 58,000 people and you would think that there would be an available job somewhere (well somewhere that doesn’t involve me saying “would you like fries with that).

We finally got some much needed rain this afternoon and the weather report said we will probably get more tomorrow. It’s pretty good news since almost all of Houston hasn’t had rain in over a month. They were just starting to put rations on the water supplies around town.

nothing new…

Well nothing new really. I am still looking for a job and have been unsuccessful in finding one.

Finally got my truck back… it took $1300, but I got it =). Got it all washed and looking nice this afternoon. Now if I just had a job so that I could fill the gas tank.

well, well…

I recently discovered that some people actually read this thing… =)

Went to Lyndsay’s sister’s graduation yesterday. Not too shabby. The valedictorian had a much better speech than the boring one that we experienced last year.

Nothing new to report on the “Finding a Job” front… I still haven’t found one and I doubt I will. There is nothing in this town, absolutely nothing and it is getting on my nerves because my gas tank is very close to empty….

finally…

Well, my dad finally caved in and got DSL. It is working pretty well and it is nice to have a connection that is comparable to the one I had at school.

My truck’s transmission went out, so I am having to get a rebuilt one put in. That should be ready to go on Tuesday. I haven’t been able to drive in almost a week and it is getting annoying. I like my mom’s car, but for only one reason, the sound system. It beats mine by a long shot and if I could get one like it put in my truck for cheap, I would.

Lyndsay mentioned something about going to the museum district so I think I will take her to go do that. I am not a huge museum fan but I do like looking at some of the stuff and if we go together it’ll be fun. Personally, I am ready to go back down to Surfside beach and catch some rays… I need to start running every morning and get myself in better shape. Apparently my mom thinks that getting a job is more important. I can agree with her to a point because I need the money, badly. Then again, I really want to have the “do nothing” summer…
