Keith Olbermann, You’re Funny
After watching the video that I’ve posted below, I do have to wonder if Olbermann actually believes everything he says. Around the three minute mark is where it gets funny. Mr. Olbermann addresses the possibility of insurance companies charging “whatever they want” and comparing it to a fine. That’s hilarious because that’s exactly what H.R. 3590 was going to impose on people who did not get health insurance. The bill called (I’m using past tense because I believe it is dead) for people to be fined and even jailed if they did not receive insurance from work or sign up for the government coverage. Going beyond healthcare and insurance and focusing on the legal aspects of that part of the bill, I am not even sure how it could stand up constitutionally, unless of course you’re allowed to stand trial for not getting coverage. I wonder what kind of strain that would put on the courts.
There has to be a better way to fix the system.
